L.A.times: Ravens to look at Chow

Desertbuckfan

In the L.A. times today it reports the Ravens are intrested in talking to Chow to replace thier fired Oc, I think it would be a good fit but what is the salary in the N.F.L. for a coach I know he makes 550,000 with the trojans.

Top assistants can make a million now... I think Monte Kiffin got 3 years for 5 mill and change to stay in TB... so I guess he makes closer to 2...

I'm sure the Ravens would offer Chow something like that..... it would be attractive, especially if they were to give like 2 mm up front and then A million a year for 3 years... all depends what he really wants to do in the future.

He'd have Jamal Lewis and Todd Heap...

Get half a QB and Half a receiver... and you're in business.
Q - Which half, top, bottom? A -- Even Chow would prefer a full QB and receiver!
In their division before this year I'd have said yep to your scenario (its what they did while Lewis's defense propped their lackluster O through the Super Bowl year). However, they now face a strong and very resurgent Steelers team. Bengals are going to return a pretty potent offense, life isn't as easy as before.

(Other side of the coin, if Chow does exit USC stage right for Baltimore, how long before the Trojans bubble bursts?)

USC=Norm Chow

Anyone who thinks Pete Caroll is the brains behind USC has their head in the sand. Norm Chow leaving USC will have major implications for that program. IMO USC and OSU will be meeting for the NC in the RB next year. If Chow leaves I like the Buckeyes chances alot. Pete Caroll does not scare me on his own...IMO Chow is the key to their success.

Can't Understand

That's one thing that I could never understand about the Ravens. They have some great players on offense.

Outstanding LT Ogden, Lewis, Heap. If they would get a superstar receiver (not that they didn't try to get Owens) they could be really good.

I don't think that the QB is really the problem. He could be very good with great coaching and the right scheme. They need someone like Chow for Boller.

I don't think it would be a bad job to take. If you had some input on personnel you could look like a genius.

You would think that with ML staying for his senior year that Chow would stay put one more year and then go...they probably talked together about this and maybe will part their seperate ways along with PC and all 3 of them would then go pro...jsut an opinion though
