I wondered the same thing. I think that might be zoysia, which is tan in the winter, on his home field.

How does a kid with this film v top shelf comp fly so far under the radar in today's technological age?

Because he came out of nowhere this year. He wasn't even on the varsity as a soph and wasn't a starter as a junior because he was playing behind 2 FCS WRs (although he did eventually end up in the lineup when one got hurt). He was therefore a "nobody" when he went to a camp at UC last summer with his high school team. But after running a sub-4 second short shuttle the Cincy coaches took notice and put him through DB drills. They threw 15 passes to the WR Wallace was covering and were only able to complete two, while Wallace intercepted seven. They offered him on the spot and he took it.

This year he started and played WR, DB, some QB and returned kicks. He had a monster year, especially in the playoffs (where most of his eye-popping highlights are from) as he led his team to winning the second largest division in Virginia. He reminds me a lot of Landers who had a dominant run in the Ohio playoffs last year and came of out of nowhere to get an OSU offer.

Once Wallace's film got out after the season the offers started flowing in, and they were from very good talent evaluators: Pitt (Narduzzi); Virginia Tech (Bud Foster); Maryland (Durkin); Clemson (Venables); MSU; and OSU (with Schiano supposedly pushing to get him in for a visit).

K'Von says he has to make a decision after an incredible visit. He has always been a Buckeye fan and tOSU is his dream school.
