Former Ohio State football player Kurt Coleman has reportedly agreed to a 3-year contract extension with the Carolina Panthers, according to Ian Rapoport. Coleman is expected to sign his new deal Wednesday, and is looking at a big raise from the $1.3 million he earned for the 2015 season.

In only one year with the Panthers, he grabbed seven interceptions — and his first career Pick 6 -- on the team’s way to the Super Bowl. The Buckeye made quite an impression in his sixth year in the league, even recording his first NFL career sack. The Panthers lost a big piece of their secondary with Josh Norman signing a deal with Washington, and the team is smart to lock in a consistently contributing veteran.

Coleman spent his first four seasons in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles. He garnered attention during the 2011 season with four interceptions, two of which he grabbed in one game. In 2014 he was traded to the Chiefs, where he spent just one season before heading to Carolina.
