NFBuck

  • Good hire. He should be able to work wonders with Leinart and all those weapons on offense...oh wait, that's the NFL Cardinals. My Bad.

Tulsa's Kragthorpe succeeds Petrino at Louisville

Great hire. I don't think Lawvul will miss a beat at all in Petrino's absence. He would've been on the top of my list.

You gotta feel for Tulsa though. Every time they get a good coach, whether it be in football or basketball, a big program swoops in and snatches him up.

Horrible timing too. Their DC went to become head coach at Rice las season, leading them to their first bowl game since the French and Indian War. He would've made a great replacement for Kragthorpe at Tulsa.

Great call, EngineerHorn. Tulsa got him back.

By JUSTIN JUOZAPAVICIUS, Associated Press Writer
    January 12, 2007

TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Todd Graham was hired as head coach at Tulsa on Friday, just three days after he had signed a contract to remain with Rice through 2012. Graham leaves Rice after one season and replaces Steve Kragthorpe, who was hired Tuesday to replace Bobby Petrino at Louisville. Graham was Tulsa's defensive coordinator for three years before leading Rice to its first bowl game in 45 years. The Owls were 1-10 in 2005 and went 7-6 under Graham.

I witnessed his last game...... my in laws are in Luvil.... so naturally I went with my father in law to the game which he called Kraigthorps sign off. To drink bourbon and watch a bad college football game. While tailgateing i got to hear about how Jon Gruden was looking at homes in the area.... i just drank more bourbon.

I remember they were calling us out 2-3 years ago. Kinda like Cinci now.
