SG: Kobe Bryant (hon mention Mike Redd; sorry, Mike)
C: Shaquille O'Neal (2007 edition, not the younger Shaq)
I hate Kobe just as much as everyone else but this post above me is just stupid.
Wow, Shaq a huge center doesn't win the championship this year and suddenly becomes an 'addition by subtraction' member, crazy how the Heat had not won a championship since Shaq entered the league until he joined their team. He (and the heat) won the title in 2006. Then before he was on the Heat he was a Laker, where he got a couple of championships. On the team with him was none other then Kobe Bryant.... you are right though, those guys can't win championships, and any team would be lucky to be without them.
The fact of the matter is that the Spurs have been pretty much a dynasty, so there are a lot of great players who have not won it as a result. Replace Kobe with any player in the league and the lakers wouldn't have done any better. Kobe did for a terrible Lakers team what KG hasn't been able to do the past few seasons with a terrible T-Wolves team and thats win a majority of the games.
I have no problem with Kobe wanting to leave, people act like he is stabbing the Lakers in the back by leaving, even if he leaves the Lakers still get to keep the championships from which he was a team member. Plus he has put in his time, 3 years, towards the rebuilding of the program. Had he left them 3 years ago, it would have been worse, but he has put in his time, and if he leaves its not like the Lakers won't get anything for him. Sometimes players just need a fresh start.
WOW, never thought i'd spend that much time defending one of my least favorite players in the league... I guess i'm just tired of hearing about it.
