Kiyaunta Goodwin (OL Kentucky, transfer to Florida)

This is one I could certainly envision OSU coming out on top. Not only have they been in on this kid from the get, location is relatively way closer, I think he could see more opportunity for himself, and perhaps playing with Zen couldn't hurt. At the end of the day, we'll see how much he wants to be a part of the potential best class in history (beating out the other school In the running who set the previous record) or make the rich richer

Yeah I see this being Buckeyes too... as you said we are closer than most schools and we are on the same level as a Clemson or Alabama.

Unless he really wants to move somewhere a little further away I think he ends up in Columbus.

But this is a recruitment that may very well come down to Ohio State and Alabama. The Tide got the best of the Buckeyes on the field last month and on the trail with the J.C. Latham recruitment. There aren't too many must-get prospects these days, but Kiyaunta Goodwin certainly appears to be just that as Ohio State looks to fend off the Crimson Tide for its top 2022 target.

That’s why Kiyaunta Goodwin — a massive, 6-foot-7, 300-pound tackle prospect — is one of the most important uncommitted prospects for Ohio State’s recruiting class right now. Simply put, there are a lot of big-time quarterbacks, running backs and receivers ready to go in Columbus, so there has to be road-grading type linemen leading the way.

Kiyaunta Goodwin fits that bill.

A year ago, that wasn’t entirely the case. Goodwin weighed nearly 400 pounds in January of 2020. Had he not made some real adjustments, he could have taken himself out of many recruiting conversations. Instead, he turned up the heat on his own workouts and showed a tenacity and work-ethic that changed his present and his future.

From a build perspective I see a lot of Tyron Smith in him, but with even more height. If he’s anything near that type of player he is somebody we have to land l, hopefully the early start gives us the advantage and I feel pretty good about this one, despite my previous post about being near the south based on location from Louisville.
