UK fan here. Born and raised in KY, but have lived in OH for the last 8 years or so.

...and yes, Barker is expected to pick UK by most of the people around UK. This will be the first of probably many recruiting battles between OSU and UK going forward given Mark Stoops and Vince Marrow's ties to OH. I can tell you, many of the UK fan sites believe OSU will get the lion's share of any OH prospect they want, but UK feels good about landing the guys in the Cincinnati and Youngstown areas. UK fans are confident UK lands Derek Kief. I'm sure many on this board would disagree, but there are increasingly rumors UK is gaining on OSU for the services of the trio from Glenville (Lattimore, Jones, and Smith).

FWIW, rumblings from UK they are feeling increasingly confident on eventually signing Jones and his teammates Lattimore and Smith. Glenville's coach is very familiar with Vince Marrow and Stoops and trusts them.

Ohio State never offered Barker so I wouldn't consider that head-to-head.

Kief told UK he would be at their spring game and then chose to go to Ohio State's at the last minute instead- where is the confidence coming from.

UK will never break into Ohio State's pipeline to Glenville for kids Ohio State wants while Ginn Sr. and Meyer are still around.

Kentucky is doing incredibly well recruiting in Ohio and they will get better as a result- that is a reflection of how terrible and lazy the rest of the Big Ten is at recruiting and they will need to step up their game or constantly get beat by UK in Ohio.

The impact of UK's resurgence on Ohio State will be minimal at most.

To be a competition both sides have to play. Since we never offer Barker, there was never a battle for him. As far as Kief goes we will see, but to come here and talk smack about Glenville kids shows such a fundamental lack of understand of the relationship between Glenville and OSU that it calls into question not only the lack of intelligence on your "UK Fans sites",but your sanity as well.

:lol: no subtle trolling here at all.

Congrats on possibly picking up a player who was dying for an osu offer and yet never got one. Not a commentary on his ability, merely your failure. Kentucky has done a good job recruiting. Very astute strategy to move away from the south and come up north to steal recruits from the lackluster next tier big ten schools.
