My view of the game. Defense is an unknown, they were generally unchallenged and if not for that int it’s a shut out. A few things to note is that we still couldn’t get after the QB, we aren’t playing Wilder still, but the LB rotation is getting figured out because I saw much more Pettijohn instead of Pierce. It seems that James is more willing to play the talent than Larry is. I’d like to see more of Perez at DT too but doubtful it’ll happen.

Offense where to begin. They quit playing about 4 drives into the game after getting up 3 scores. They scored touchdowns on 2 fourth down conversions, failed on two other fourth down conversions, played too many tight ends again, and could not break a run longer than 15 or so yards. You add that to some miscommunications throwing the ball and it was a less than inspiring game offensively.

As it stands I’m not going to expect fire works again in a TEMU (talent equated match up) until I see it happen. I don’t know if the offense has regressed but Julian just looks off.

To the point where I’m pretty sure if this continues he’ll be back next year.

I’m more confident in the defense by far than I am with the offense.

Not having been able to see the game and reading through both threads it seems the team needs some time to jell. This makes sense given the nature of how many new faces we have. It may also be a new reality of the NIL era where your players don’t grow up in the system together and build that trust and confidence in the player next to them.

Nope we need utter perfection immediately upon stepping on the field. If you think otherwise, you're just a sunshine pumper per some fans.

I think this take is pretty much spot on. The typical whiners in the fanbase are whining their usual nonsense. The ignore button is going to get a workout this season I can already tell.

I meant the eh whatever in terms of my concern for any hurt feelings

Sayin is facing adversity, that is what's required for growth.

Hopefully he does, so far he isn't where we need him to be.

Right. Has great stats, but stats lie and don't win natty's

On another note, IMHO, Arch Manning isn't that good. He didn't exactly kill it in either game, which makes the loss that much more concerning, for lack of a better word.

I think you can level the same criticism at each of them. They aren't as good as the hype (even though "the hype" is subjective).

As far as Sayin goes, the good news (at least as I look at things) is he is going to either learn or crater because every defense he sees from here out is going to attack his flaws to whatever their skill level and coaching chops allow.

True.

I love my Buckeyes, see them as a good team, but the criticism is only towards the fact they don't look championship good.
