Wow. That was a crock.

Strangely enough, they might have benefited from the way it'll be enforced next year. The TD would've been called back. They could have possible scored again after the penalty and had a shot at a normal 2-point conversion.

i thought TD's would be called back only if they do something before they score??

That rule change is going to be a joke given how refs call this penalty for just about anything.

Like others have said, the TD wouldn't be called back becuase he scored before his action was deemed worthy of a penalty. They'll only be called back if the guy taunts, high-steps, etc, before crossing the goal line.

Like Justin Blackmon running sideways outside the goal line last night. I'm fine with that becoming a first down on the 16 yard line.

The call for the salute was a total crock - and not just because my vCash was on K-St. :biggrin:

Guess the players are all supposed to be robotic no-personality-automatons just marching around the field, quickly doing their shit.

WTF is next?
pre-game penalties for oversleeping?
Penalties in your first game because you didn't do the dishes over the summer?

What they need to do, is tie those two officials who threw the flags to a goalpost, and have every D-IA, sorry, FBS starting QB take 10 "salutes" at them with a (preferably frozen) football from the 10-yd line.

They thought Santonio Holmes was unsportsmanlike when he pointed to the sky after a TD.

They thought Santonio Holmes was unsportsmanlike again when he dove into the endzone for the TD to avoid defenders.


It was only a matter of time before their bullshit calls cost someone the game. They're a joke. Get rid of 'em.
