Anyone here ever have one of their kids gets a speeding ticket? My 17 year old received one and has a court date before the Trumbull County Juvenile Judge. Any idea what the fine will be(he's paying it not I), and will they revoke his license for any lenght of time. Thanks.

For a first offense, should be your basic fine (~$120) and 2 points on the license, no suspension -- but 3 moving violations before 18 can result in a 1-year suspension.

The only ticket I ever got was when I was 17, going to my last HS final.

The ticket was actually $25 but the court date added another $95. My dad and I were in and out in about a half hour, you just sit in the magistrate's office (Cuyahoga County, in my case) and plead your case if you have one.

I think the points are expunged after a certain amount of time if there aren't any more incidents.
