FWIW, when I was in HS in the 80's our German teacher would get educational films for the class.

He would let us pick out which films we wanted. They were the typical fluff government approved items.

The one he wouldn't get that we always wanted was on how to cheat in Soccer.

Along with that long list of soccer's disgraces, don't forget to add "settling games with penalty kicks." Can you imagine playing 48 minutes in the NBA, two 5-minute overtimes, and, with the score still tied, settling the winner by taking turns shooting FREE THROWS? THAT is why Americans can't stand soccer...it has potential, but the rules and reffing are completely foreign to anything with which we can relate. How about you start taking players off the field after each OT? Or, penalty kicks start from midfield, with the goalie being allowed to move, and the player having 5 or 6 seconds to dribble and shoot? Not really related to the OP, but I just wanted to reiterate how stupid soccer is (the oldest and most played sport in the world!)

SOCCER BORING!?!?!?!

I'll have you know that I watched a match the other night and it was so exciting. The one team kicked the ball all the way down to one end and then the other team got it and kicked it all the way down to the other end. After that the other team got it and kicked it down to the other end... AND THEN... (you'll never guess) Thats right the other team got the ball and.................:sleep2: :sleep2: :dead: :dead:

Just another reason why soccer sucks-if boring play, low scoring, ref bribing, racist chants, riots, stampedes at matches and general euro-trash attitude isn't enough, now "super-hooligans" from Argentina are teaching other countries idiots how to be more effective at their douchebaggery... http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=reu-latamargentinahooligans&prov=reuters&type=lgns

You forgot throw bags filled with piss and blood at players, firecrackers, Batteries (But they do that in San Francisco too)......

Is that a hangup with the NHL? Personally, College OT is exciting, but a completely different game of football (ie starting in FG range).

Personally, I hated ending hard fought soccer games with such a trivial ending, but after two hours of running (about 8.5 miles on avg), there isn't much of an alternative.
