Source: #Angels, Hamilton in agreement. Five-year deal, as first reported by @jonmorosi.

I just hope he can keep it together. L.A. could be a difficult place to stay clean, but then again, when you're an addict anywhere is difficult to stay clean.

He had a rough year last season in regards to sobriety (rumored relapses throughout the season) and you just hope he has the right support system in place.

With that being said, the Angels have one hell of an offensive line-up if Hamilton keeps it together.

Didn't help he decided to quit tobacco during the middle of the season then became addicted to energy drinks which then lead to some temporary blindness... I feel for the dude

It's a symptom of drug abuse. Addicts often times replace the drugs with other, legal, substances such as tobacco, sugary/caffeine heavy products, or other addictive behavior.

Anyways, the guy got railing some chick in a stall while hammered last off-season, and then missed chunks of time during the season while the team made excuses and covered up the causes.

Again, I just hope he keeps it together.

I mean, the guy did play a part in a man dying & in front of his son no less. I was convinced that sad incident was going to lead him directly back to his old ways, but he steered clear for longer than I anticipated and good for him on that. That being said, his substance abuse history is well-documented and its just unfortunate the fight vs. his own demons continues to get the best of him at times. The guy isn't perfect and is never going to be.
