Joining a Frat at OSU?

I was also told that SigEp is a good fraternity, but I haven't seen them yet (I am pretty sure they have a chapter at Ohio State).

My old roommate was a SigEp member at another university. He was the only geeky looking guy in a house full of cool dudes. They held a few big mixers and overall left a good impression on me. Had I seen it before I went to college I may have went to a college with a greek system.

problem with sig ep at OSU is that their house is a dorm. when they got kicked off, part of their reinstatement was that they had to be dry and they had to have a campus representative living in the house. unless that has changed in the last 4 years, they are an also ran at OSU. nationally though, they are a very strong house.

Busy day:

Went to a Phi Delta Theta BBQ. Cool guys. They gave me a tour of their house and it was in much better condition than Sammy's house.

Went out to dinner with AEPi. They were friendly, but something about their "culture" was disagreeable to me. I don't know how to explain it other than to say that on the way back from dinner, they all sang along to "Ride With Me" by Nelly.

Stopped by Sigma Chi. Walked right up to the house at like 9:30 PM tonight. Bunch of them sitting out front. They were very friendly, took my number for rush, and told me to come by tomorrow for a party. They appreciated my proactive nature about seeking out rush information and introducing myself.

Did the same thing at Phi Kappa Psi after that. They took my number and email and said they would keep in touch. Again, they thought it showed character to come right up to their house and introduce myself.

I am starting to feel really good about this whole rush thing. As a note, Ohio State doesn't rush freshmen until winter quarter, but many freshmen informally rush now so they get a good feel of the Greek system and have a head start come winter.

I only spent two days at the Delt house back when Notre Dame came to Columbus, and they seemed like decent guys. I was the President when we went from colony to chapter at Eastern Michigan. I realize all chapters are different; however, most of the Delts I've run into over the years are alright cats. Any interest or thoughts in DTD?
