Definitely some teary eyes right here.

I'm young. Never met the guy. But he's had an impact on my life and I've learned to take his lessons to heart. There is no doubt about his character. That story about writing every month to his wife...:(.

No doubt he is resting in peace.

RIP, to one of the greatest minds the basketball world has ever seen.

Just heard some interesting stuff on ESPN about Wooden.

1. Dick Vitale said when he was coaching HS basketball he used to write letters to college coaches asking them for advice on what to tell his kids. Wooden was one of the only ones who would write back.

2. The most money he ever made in a year at UCLA was $35,000. I know the times are different, but I still find that incredible. Coaches today most likely won't even get a sniff of the level of success he had.
