Longtime Ohio State football trainer dead at 88. John Bozick, Ohio State’s longtime football equipment manager throughout the tenures of Woody Hayes and Earle Bruce, died Friday. He was 88.

Best friend and husband to Dorothy Saylor Bozick who preceded him in death; dear brother to Dorothy Leibensberger; and loved uncle of Teresa, Sharon, Patti, Kent, Karen, Jean, Glen, Gail, Claude, Ann and "Aim". As a straight-talking friend to coaches, athletes, trainers and students alike at Ohio State University, John earned the respect and love of many, both within and outside of this "Ohio State family", during his 65 years in the Columbus community. "The Buckeyes have lost an unsung hero.""despite all of your protests, you will always be a legendary figure in Ohio State athletics. We will miss the tough old Serb with a heart of gold." A celebration of his life is planned for April 11, 2014 (TBA) in concert with the OSU Spring Football game on April 12.
