Job Happiness on a Scale of 1-100?

Cornerback6

Optimism Lover
I feel like there are 50 things I'd like to do before I die. Unfortunately, I can't sit still ever and am always thinking about what's next. I refuse to settle into anything until I'm totally happy with what I do. I want to wake up in the morning and be excited about work. Makes me wonder does anyone else get that feeling? Or is our society truly becoming the laboring hell-hole that cynics make it out to be?

Anyhow, that prompted me to ask everyone else. On a scale of 1-100, how happy are you with what you do?

Currently I'm teaching and I'd say I'm at a 65. IMO, not high enough for the sake of the kids. I enjoy helping them with their social lives (loads of troubled kids in my school) more than actually teaching them. So maybe a different path for me.

What about you guys?

I just made a job change last August, and this current job is much better than the one I left. I'd say I like what I do, but I don't love it. I get paid well, and the job allows me to be home at a reasonable hour and on weekends. Bottom line though, I work because I have to. I'm not one of those people who jump out of bed each day because they can't wait to get to work.

I'd say I'm at about 75 or so.

I'd say about 65. Doing flight weather briefings all day gets somewhat tedious. Not enough actual forecasting involved for me. Come September, it's going to take a big leap when I move on to Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs. I'm going to be transitioning into some space weather forecasting. I'll still be doing terrestrial weather, but will also be spending time at NORAD doing space weather. Down side is I'm going to have to go back down to Biloxi again for about six weeks for a space weather refresher course.

i sit on BP, do research, do lab reports, and homework 95% of the time at my job even though it can be boring it convenient and way better than my previous job. getting paid every 2 weeks is a downer though and its not the most grand amount of money but i wasn't expecting it to be. i would say it is about a 78.

85 - Travel can wear thin, but I get to see a lot of cool places and the wife and I have not had to pay for a vacation in years so that is cool. Also, free trips to away OSU games is pretty sexy too.

Great job, not a long term career though.

When I got my promotion last year, I went from getting paid weekly to getting paid monthly. I got paid weekly at OSU as well. It was an adjustment to switch!

Yeah, when my wife worked at OSU she actually got paid monthly.

Thought that was kind of lame.
