Jimmy Fallon Sucks (Official Thread)

I didn't see the show so I have no idea how bad it was, but Conan when he first started was bad, So bad that its was funny how akward he was, and slowly he grew into the role. Maybe that will happen with fallon, maybe it won't who knows.

As far as the other hosts you like you might want to get your tv checked because Kilborn hasn't had a show for like 5 years or something like that. The host now is that dude that was on Drew Carey

No doubt that Conan had to learn on the job, and was not good in the beginning, but he had a very strong writing pedigree (SNL, Simpsons) that suggested he knew how to write comedy, just had to get comfortable with being the star. Fallon has a resume of being the weak link in an otherwise strong to adequate SNL cast, and a handful of second rate movies that failed to live up to their low expectations.

And, yes, I meant to say Craig Furguson, who I think does a good job in both the monologue/sketches and interviews. The problem with his show is that they really scrape the bottom of the barrel when booking guests. Half the time, his guests aren't even on to plug anything, because they haven't worked in over 5 years. Furguson would be a great candidate to move up when Letterman retires.

I would say the over/under on Jimmy Fallon lasting as a late-night host is about 3 months.

That sucks - I've got a buddy from HS who just left LA to go to NYC and (help?) produce this show. I hope for his sake that it lasts a little longer, so he can at least get a good resume-builder out of it.

I would say it last more than 3 months. Maybe 6

Jimmy Fallon was mostly bad on SNL, and I'm sure this show will be as inane as most bad talk-shows, but he did a few good impressions; I did love when he did the Barry Gibb Talk Show with Justin Timberlake.

Edit -- wow, I didn't realize they actually reprised those skits on the first show. It was funny back when it was new, but talk about going back to the well!

did he giggle like a school girl throughout the bit?

Not sure, but probably on the repeat performances at least. Him and other SNL guys laughing during skits (hello anyone who worked with Chris Farley) never bothered me as much as some people...

Laughing during hilarious sketches is understandable. Laughing during EVERY sketch (and on SNL there are plenty of :so: sketches) is not.
