I really like them. They look both classic and cutting edge at the same time.

If you're interested, here's the promo/intro for the gameday shirt.

Pretty cool homage to our traditions and legacy.

Plus, it seems to answer once and for all one of the foundational questions of the Universe.

:oh:

Shirt is awesome, although ironic that we won't actually be WEARING buckeye leaf decals on the helmets on the uni for the game the shirt was made to promote

Did you get actual info that the pre-announced "silver" leaves won't be put on the helmets?

The helmet numbers are about the only thing this is authentic from this design (and aren't that bad), but NOT authentic from 1954. Amazing how we know what the uniforms looked like in 1954, but Nike can't make 1954 uniform throwbacks to honor the 54 team...

I can just see the spring announcement: "Based on the popularity of the uniforms honoring the 1954 team, Ohio State has decided to adopt the style permanently..."

Oh, no I was making an assumption based on the fact

#1 We didn't wear Buckeye leaves in 54

#2 It doesn't really work with the helmet numbers, they'd have to either go around the number which would look silly or cover numbers in which case you'd have partly covered numbers that would look silly.

I didn't hear about "silver" leaves though? What was that rumor about?

My assumption is that OSU will adopt the materials/make of the jersey full time but the style will be made to look like the jersey we wear normally. The same thing will happen with the rest of the schools involved. (Florida State already mentioned that that's what they are doing)

It resembles the 1954 uniform in no way whatsoever. Fuck Nike. Also, shame on the OSU powers-that-be for allowing this shit...
Yep.

Not the '54 Championship team. Bullshit. Not a fan, overall.

I like the pants...and the helmet...I suppose. But for Nike to pass this along as a '54 Tribute during THE GAME (!!!) is bullshit. I don't like it The Ohio State University..I just don't.

Not bad. The helmet kind of points out the obvious (why are there numbers if their helmets didn't have them), but they're not awful. They are just alright, not bad, not great.

Not crazy about this overall.

I'm glad they did away with the gray stitching on the prototype in the photos.

I don't like the black outline on the numbers. It would look cleaner if the numbers were just scarlet.

I don't like the wrap around stripe on the back of the pants, as well. That is too much 'Nike-like' BS for an Ohio State football uniform that says 'Buckeye Tradition' in the collar.

The 'Buckeyes' on the sleeve of the undershirt is a bit much.

Not crazy about the helmets but don't hate them either. While I'd rather them have buckeye leaves on their helmets for the Michigan game, I don't want to see them on these helmets. That will look stupid with the numbers on there. And, if they put silver leaves, as mentioned in some other posts that will look REALLY bad, especially with these uniforms.

I prefer simple and traditional in any uniform, and this is neither. Nike added too much to it, IMO. But I'd expect nothing less when Nike gets an open door to provide a new uniform.

I hate to see Nike get to Ohio State's football uniforms, as it has been avoided--until now.

Does anyone have the sideline access to coachtressel.com to show the buckeye leave count for this year? I wondered who had the most and if it would even be close to "filling" the hat if they did something for THE GAME.
