This sugar bowl will put to the test of whether bowl games have any effect on recruits decisions...

So this is the proof? What will u say if von bell chooses us over Alabama and Alabama wins their bowl game? Back to the drawing board...

I personally think it has much more to do with how Louisville is exploiting the Florida secondary with pro-style routes. Part of James decision making process is what type of system he wants to play in.

I think hes seen how Louisville's offense has played all year long...if he is still truly 50/50 then yes this game could have an impact on his decision based on they hype Louisville will have for the next few weeks...we have recruited extremely well with no bowl game...this game will have a bigger impact on 2014 recruits then Quick i think...if this is the deciding factor for him over us then god bless him

Does it prove anything? No, but to act like the results of bowl games can't possibly be an influence on a recruits decision is foolish. No one claims that a recruit will base their entire decision on it but when a recruit is 50/50 it could certainly be one of the many factors that could push them one way another. Especially in a case like this where UL is showing they can throw the ball against an "elite" SEC defense.

or, he can hope that another bridgewater falls in louisville's lap for the final 2-3 years of his college career and charlie strong stays there for another 4 years to make it worth being the big fish in the small pond.

Eh, Parker (UL's leading WR) is only a soph, and Copeland (UL's second leading WR) is only a junior, so James could look to UL and not think there's the immediate opportunity for playing time.

Yeah, Bank probably misremembered.

Which is incredibly rare.

That's an assumption not based in anything tangible.

Lets keep this into perspective.

Yes, Louisville will get some good articles and hype written about them the next few weeks...

HOWEVER, they still have to go play in the Big East - a conference Rutgers is leaving and Boise State wont even go to.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Louisville is headed to the ACC in 2014 (or 2015?). Solid conference.

I think JWins hit it on the head when he said a recruit is rarely 50/50. At least not heading into decision day. Anymore, recruits have been courted for years and the results of one game are simply not going to have a significant impact on their decision that has been in the works for a long time coming. As a former recruit (not of OSU, but other schools), that was the case for me...games are fun to watch, but there are a TON of other factors that, when accumulated, far outweigh the result of a game played on one night.

In this case...how long will Strong stay? What if a major university (not Tennecheat or Arky) come calling? UL was a middling school in a weak conference before that, that rarely put out NFL talent. Sure it is closer to Quick but OSU is not far away at all and offers MUCH more on a fairly objective basis. Not saying that all of that prevails because factors such as comfort with an institution and/or coaches can be an ultimate deciding factor (for example), but just saying that predictions based so heavily on something so fleeting as one game are ill-advised. It will in all actuality have almost no effect on Quick's decision.

Now all that being said...I truly respect and trust opinions of people such as Bill Greene. He is legit and knows far more than I do on this recruit. However, I have much trepidation of "new" info coming up near AA game announcements from prior experience. I know UFM is the ultimate closer and I have more faith now than ever, but my gut has made me believe Quick was UL bound for awhile now. In the name of sheer caution I am going to hold off on the Quick kool-aid and be pleasantly surprised if he heads up to play his ball by the banks of the Olentangy. Again, zero inside info guiding that notion. However, I hope I am pleasantly surprised, as I see Quick as both the purest and most talented WR available. Possibly the best period.

Strong held a major job interview last night... He landed a big time coaching job somewhere... no way he stays at Louisville 4 more years... but he better find another Bridgewater

Pretty sure Quick knows all this too
