I just discovered tonight that AMC is showing a different Bond flick every weeknight this month. Once in fullscreen, and then once in widescreen immediately afterward. Needless to say, I'll definitlely be tuned in the rest of the month. Is anyone else here watching?
 
I'm a huge Bond fan. I think AKAK is as well, if I remember correctly. I'm all about tuning in, but I probably won't: I've seen them all 100 times, and they're always on TV.

What's your favorite Bond movie, jlb?

HUGE Bond fan here. Does anyone else get excited when they have these Bond marathons on TV even though you own them all on DVD and can watch them anytime you like?!? My favorite Bond movie is probably "On Her Majestys Secret Service". I am also a big fan of "Thunderball" and "From Russia With Love". "Goldfinger" ranks forth on my list.

Great, GREAT movie. I loved it. Its definately in my Top 5, but doesn't crack my # 1 spot because George Lazenby is a horrible actor. Had Connery been in OHMSS, it definately would be my favorite Bond. Telly Savalas does a great job as Blofeld too, but not as good as Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasence).

I'd rank the Spy Who Loved Me & Live and Let Die as my two favorite Bonds. Also the two hottest Bond girls in those flicks: Barbara Bach and a young Jane Seymour in her prime. Very tough to beat that ..

I can't disagree with these favorites. I like (in no particular order) Live & Let Die, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, From Russia With Love, and GoldenEye (makes the list because I'm a young guy, and it was my first Bond flick. Bonus points for the video game.)

I've been watching them all so far with my oldest son - we are both big Bond fans (as long as it's either Connery or Brosnan - although I thought Dalton was OK, too). Part of the fun is seeing all the charachters and relating them to the charachters in the Austin Powers films.

I'm going to miss the next three nights, though, and there's no way I'll watch any of the Roger Moore versions, except for maybe Live and Let Die.

The 1983 "Never Say Never Again", with Sean Connery reprising his "Thunderball" role, had Kim Basinger (Domino) and Barbara Carrera as Fatima Blush. Pretty good 1-2 babe combo. Plus this line:

"The greatest rapture of my life was afforded me on a boat in Nassau by Fatima Blush".

The original was a better movie, but I'll take the ladies in the remake. :biggrin:

I actually didn't like Goldeneye. I thought it was boring, and Brosnan hadn't settled into the character yet. I think Brosnan is a great Bond, and I loved all his other Bond movies.

I'm the only one in the world who thinks this - but License to Kill is one of the best Bond movies. Easily cracks my Top 10. I didn't have a problem with Dalton as Bond: although Brosnan is much better.

I think sometimes its who you follow that determines whether you flop or not. Dalton played a very stern & serious Bond (like the Fleming novels), and that was boring to the public following Moore who's whole schtick was wise-cracks & such.

Good call. But since Never Say Never Again isn't an "official" Bond flick, I didn't include it.

Best Bond line ever:
Bond: "What's your name?"
Plenty: "Plenty O'Toole."
Bond: "Named after your father, perhaps .."

No, you're not the only one who thinks that. I liked Dalton because he could totally kick ass with great efficiency and no mercy/emotion whatsoever. just like a real operative should and would do. License to Kill is a great Bond movie.

Lazenby definitely is not a great actor, but it is one of the best plots to any Bond movie. I love the ski/car chase towards the end. The instrumental song "On Her Majestys Secret Service" also kicks ass.

"The Spy Who Loved Me" and "Live and Let Die" are by far Moore's best flicks.

As far as Dalton, I am not a fan of his. He is too serious, but I do agree that he has a "coldness" to the way he played Bond.

Brosnan is a great Bond, but IMO the past couple of movies have been pretty bad, especially "Die Another Day". Bond movies have never been realistic, but the past couple have been WAY over the top. I lost interest in the last movie once they introduced the invisible car.... Hopefully, the next director won't use as much CGI.

I actually also liked Dalton as Bond. License to kill was very good, as was the living daylights.

My fav would have to be Diamonds are Forever, followed by Goldfinger. Course I cant really pick a favorite, cause hell, they were all awesome. Now I didnt like any of the Brosnan movies. I think he is very dry and boring. Course I dont know if it was him, or the fact that the movies just werent that exciting.

My Dad's fav is Live and Let Die.......which I cant even disagree with that one.
