Jaguars' Collier shot, has life-threatening injuries

Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Richard Collier has been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being shot early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Collier, 27, was shot at about 2:45 a.m. in Jacksonville while sitting in a parked vehicle, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office spokesman Ken Jefferson said. He was transported to an area hospital.

Collier and Kenneth Pettway, a linebacker who was released by the Jags on Saturday, were parked outside an apartment waiting for two women they met while clubbing when a gunman fired several shots into their vehicle, police said. Collier was hit several times, Jefferson said. Pettway was not injured in the attack.
