JabriLLL "Ghost" Peppers (New England Patriots)

Peppers over pursue? Nah.... that can't be... he's the B1G LB and Defensive player of the year!

It's not like his over pursuit has been exploited for a TD before

Of course, it could have been worse, I suppose:

But he runs a 4.3. How was it even possible that JT ran past him?
There's track fast in shorts and sneakers, then there's football fast in pads, on the field. I think JT may have a little more speed on the field that he doesn't get credit for. He might not rip off a 4.4-40 on the track, but put him in full gear, and he's deceptively fast.

I look at Peppers and I don't see ridiculous football speed. Sure, he might rip off a 4.3-40 at the combine, but in pads, he's not special. Teddy Ginn was an example of a guy who was ridiculously fast on a track and on the field. He didn't lose anything in pads. I think GerbiLLL does.

You guys can make fun of him all you want, but that ^^^^^^ is freakish athleticism to jump over our blocker and fly backwards 4 feet off the ground while attempting a back hand spring into a back flip during a game.

Plus, if Eflein hadn't whiffed on his block and instead knocked him on his ass, that would have been a TD
He's clearly to blame on this one as well.

If the clip started a little earlier, you can see Peppers telling the other defender to vacate the middle of the field, leaving only Peppers--- as he back peddles to approximately 20 yards off the ball.

He then whiffs horribly on the tackle and looks like a jackass chasing Barrett.

So schematically he might have been wrong telling the other guy to vacate the middle... alignment he was almost certainly wrong, 20 yards off the ball against a team that hasn't completed a long pass all day?... and he definitely fucked up the execution of making a tackle.

So yeah, definitely player of the year quality stuff right there.

After watching The Game again, I'm not sure I've ever seen a player do so much to hurt his team.

Well, scratch that, I lived in Chicago when Rex Grossman was unleashing the dragon. Other than that though...

Don't forget JT's ginormous knee brace.

pro football focus has dropped chlamydia down the board. the reasons for the downgrade are warranted and obvious but nonetheless good to see. the nfl team that over-spends on him deserves the fallout.

note: only elflein is listed in the mock draft.
The entire reason he is a "hybrid" is because he couldn't fucking cover receivers from Purdue, Indiana, and NWU. If he could cover he would have been at least a SS and he sure as fuck wouldn't be the biggest guy to ever play corner either. The guy just is not anywhere near what the hype machine says he is and for some reason my dumbass buddies have bought it hook line and sinker and they think I am nuts. I keep telling them, "just wait until teams evaluate his films, dude will drop so fast Brady Quinn will think he was in slow motion".

Wouldn't be surprised if he's the one that was supposed to account for the 3rd receiver on the other side of the field in this one:

My guess is McCray should be on Weber. He was taking him for much of the game. Probably looked like he was spying because he had no idea where Weber had gone.

Another nice play to watch and laugh at Peppers though is our first OT TD. McCray clearly has Samuel covered on the pitch, but Peppers still bites hard on Barretts fake, abandons his gap, and takes himself out of the play. And then of course Samuels game winning TD, Michigan had set the edge. All Peppers needed to do is mind his gap to string the play out. Instead he tried to beat Curtis to the corner and surrendered the cutback.
