Not sure Hoke is fully aware that Peppers will likely not still be playing for him in 2018.

The normal rule is less than 30% of games played as long as they are not after the halfway point. He only played in 3 games. So by shutting him down now, assuming there's no bowl game, that's only 25%.

I don't think so. The first game is the only one in which I recall him playing a lot. He may have played in the second game as well. But he's been out for awhile now.

The rule is you play 1 snap of 1 game and it's burns a redshirt. It changed from the 1/3 of games years ago.
You can apply for a medical hardship waiver to get a 6th year if you get hurt and only play in a few games**cough** gardner**cough**but it's not guaranteed.
At least that's how I remember the RS process last.

Yes.
When Peppers stepped on to the... even for just one play.. he can no longer redshirt.
So, unless he's got an injury, he cannot "redshirt."

It's funny because they hand out redshirts for likely non-existent injuries.
And put kids with likely concussions back on the field.
