Quite the feat for the junior QB.
J.T. Barrett has had quite the illustrious career at Ohio State, and he cemented his place in Ohio State history Saturday against Rutgers. Barrett set the record for the most passing touchdowns in a career with 58, passing Bobby Hoying.
Barrett smashed the record thanks to his three touchdown passes in the first half against Rutgers. He was able to find tight end Marcus Baugh to cap off yet another Buckeye drive, giving them a 23-0 lead and Barrett the record.
Barrett got off to a great start during his freshman season in which he passed for 34 touchdowns in Braxton Miller’s absence. It was good enough to have him finishing in fifth-place in the Heisman voting after his season was cut short due to injury. His sophomore year was more split with Cardale Jones, and he finished the year with 11 touchdowns.
After his most recent touchdown, Barrett has 13 on the year, and now the career passing touchdowns record at Ohio State.
Congrats, J.T.!
