Ok a question I have been trying ot figure ot for a LONG time. Is there a way for the music files that I download to be deleted off the hard drive when I clear them from the iTunes library? I have probably 1000 songs on my hard drive that I dont use b/c they are of poor quality, but when I delete them off the library the actual file still stays. I know someone has to know the answer of hwo to do it!

Do you have a Mac or a PC?

They're a bit easier to find in OS X. But on the PC I got, all the iTunes songs are kept in
c:\Documents and Settings\"user"\My Documents\My Music\iTunes
*"User" is the user profile for XP that you use for your iTunes collection. In my case it was "admin," but I'm sure yours is something different.

or just right click on the song and hit "clear" then it'll also give you the prompt to delete the song from your computer.
By the way, it'll only give you that prompt if you selected for itunes to organize your music library.
If you don't have itunes organize your music then when you hit clear it just takes it off the itunes library but it stays on your computer. In that case you have to go to where ever you saved the music and delete it yourself.

Personally I don't like the way itunes organizes stuff so I just have one big folder with all my music in it. It keeps everything neat and organized.
Good luck

If that is the case, the fastest thing to do is right-click, choose "Show Song File," and delete it from there, then delete the listing in the iTunes library.
