I fucking hate moving and hope I never have to do it again. I'm now a homeowner, in a pretty stable career field for the military, love the area and hope/plan on staying here.

Me too, but the bastards forgot to unload two very expensive framed pictures from their truck and it took me forever to get them back. I was about to go down there and light their fucking building on fire.THEWOOD;1530350; said:Moving fucking sucks. Last time I moved I hired a moving company. Best idea ever.
I decided in late 2019 to move this month - boy, has that worked out well! Still doing it, Covid-19 willing, but obviously it's a bit more complicated now.
It's not a long move, just a few miles, but it's time to unload this condo that was never meant for me in the first place (it was supposed to be for my mom). I've really grown to hate it and can't wait to sell it. It may take longer than expected, but I'm not in a position where I'm not going to get laid off by the virus so I'm going with the original plan.
That said, I'm remembering how much moving sucks. It is making me get rid of a bunch of crap I've accumulated over the years, so there's that.
Just saw a new-ish house (built 3 years ago) go up for sale on our street. Thought to myself, why in the world would you go on market right now? Good luck man!
Great mortgage rates will make it appealing to many buyers...My neighbor is a semi-retired realtor. He's sold 3 units in my development and says he's got 3 more buyers who want in, so I'm going to give him a shot. Most of my neighbors are retirees, so it's not like they've just lost their job. I just need one couple like that.
The good thing is if they try to low-ball me I don't have to sell now. But if they really want in this neighborhood they'll pay a reasonable price. Regardless, I've been looking forward to this move and I'm sick of having my entire life dictated by the pandemic. I'd rather give it a shot than change my plans.
