Son of a bitch.... It's snowing here in Athens this morning! Welcome back to Ohio BuckeyeFlorida, it's the end of October, have some fucking snow! I guess snow is better than cold rain?!

Anyone else seeing any this morning?

Snow??? In Athens??? Dang did they close down the city and close the schools?

Secondly why are you in Athens? And more importantly have you had gone to the burrito buggy yet?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was snowing in Athens, but not Columbus. After all, Athens is usually 2 degrees colder than Columbus because of the perpetual shadow tOSU casts over Ohio U.

Easy now, Bgrad, TSIA (That School In Athens) is the own that took OSU to court over the use of the word Ohio. If they go after us again and win we'd have to eliminate Script Ohio, O-H - I-O, Ohio Stadium, Ohio on the cheerleaders' costumes and God knows what else.

No, unfortunatley they didn't close anything. No accumulation and the snow has actually turned to rain which sucks worse!

I'm in Athens working on a graduate degree in Cellular Biology and Physiology. Got a couple degrees while in Florida, but I'm glad to be back in Ohio. I haven't made it to the Burrito Buggy yet, but there is a brand new awesome burrito shop uptown called Big Mamma's. If anyone comes back into town, be sure to check it out!

Heck no... I was so proud of that game. It was 10-10 at halftime!!! The only time I didn't root for Ohio State football. But then again my brother had the last laugh at the final score... but dang it... halftime was so much fun :biggrin:

Script Ohio and all the other traditions were never in question. It was simply Ohio U. needed something to separate themselves for marketing purposes only. Especially since Oklahoma has "OU" trademarked and Ohio U. couldn't sell anything with "OU" on it.

Yeah, it RARELY snows in Athens. When I was down there they would cancel school if an inch or more stuck to the ground. Of course the college went on except for MLK Holiday of 1994 when 2 feet of snow fell and cancelled classes for a full week. But more tragically the beer trucks couldn't make it into town and the bars went dry... for one day. Sad sad day :sad2:

I would love for it to snow and the schools be closed down. But even when it snows a foot every school district in Franklin County shuts down, EXCEPT Columbus Public. Last year we had a snow day, but there was no snow, it was because it was so cold that the old buses wouldn't start(our buses average 15-20 years old). The year before we had 1 legitimate snow day and that was the first time in 5 YEARS that we got the day off because of weather. We would have to go to school in the middle of a blizzard. While other districts will cancel school because of fog.
