It's been a long time coming....

Congrats to the Red Sox. They are my second favorite team since I had a family member play for them. I rooted for them to win, and loved the Yankees series (dear God how I hate the Yankees!). Yet I must admit Sox fans went from lovable losers to annoying overnight. I now dread the day the Cubs win the World Series. Isn't that the first sign of the Apocalype?

Whoa! Lets get something straight: the Red Sox BOUGHT a Championship. The Yankees BOUGHT their way OUT of Championships. Big difference.

From '96 to '00, the core of the Yankees was made up of Jeter, Rivera, Williams, Pettite, O'Neill, Brosius, Posada, & Martinez (I don't see any 'bought' players in there). In fact, the Yankees didn't even have the higest payroll in baseball until '99 (two championships in already), when they had to start signing homegrown talents (Jeter, Rivera, Williams, etc.) to huge lucrative deals.

As soon as those guys got old and needed to be replaced, the Yankees started spending lavishy and incorrectly with Giambi, A-Rod, Kevin Brown, and people who didn't care about winning anymore. That's why the Red Sox were able to trip and fall over a World Series ..

Don't be bitter just because your team (whatever it may be) sucks. Give credit where credit is due.

Sloopy, if I had a team, it is the tigers. However I'm merely a casual baseball watcher. I hate the yankees independent of any bitterness. Its boring having the same team win almost every year.

The latest around here is how Yankees fans are bitching about how the YES network didn't show any of the ceremony. Pretty sad how someone made a decision to shut off anyone without NESN from seeing the Sox get their rings. Either way, I'm pretty lukewarm when it comes to baseball.

There aint no Red Sox fans watching YES. In fact, I'd lose all respect for any Red Sox fan who could watch YES for more than 5 minutes without puking.

Dude, this is New York. You wanna go see the Red Sox get their rings? Drive up to Boston and buy a ticket. Or, buy a sattelite dish and watch it on NESN.

OR, you can freeze yourself in a cryogenic chamber and wake up in 2091 to see the ring ceremony for their next Championship.

Either way, there's no reason whatsoever for YES to show the ceremony.

Every angle I saw made it look like a casual swipe by some idiot who probably had a few beers and didn't realize Sheff was that close...

If it even moved the bill of his cap, I'd be surprised...

Sheffield saying he thought his lip was busted is such BS...he was probably getting razzed the whole game and seized the opportunity to put the fear of God in a fan.
