We are Buckeyes. We are proud of our state, our school, our teams, our history and traditions.

A great day to be a Buckeye, indeed. Congrats to Coach Matta and the Men's BB team.

Pulled this nugget from a story on The-Ozone today:

Ohio State has won conference championships in football and men's and women's basketball the same year in three of the past five years. They are the only Big Ten school to accomplish this feat even once.

1. The Doughboy, who used to stand just inside the main gate at 15th and High and tip his hat to all the virgins that walked by.

2. The Armory.

3. Larry's.

4. Charbert's at 15th and High.

5. Isaly's triple dip cones on a snowy day.

6. Gordon's frozen dark chocolate covered strawberries, about three blocks north of the campus - Norwich and High?

7. Venetian Pizza, next door to the North 'Berg.

8. The North 'Berg and all the initials "smoked" into the ceiling. (How could they ever let the North 'Berg go?)

9. 3/2 beer -- a good idea then that needs to be brought back.

10. Woody, Fred Taylor and Larry Snyder -- did any school ever have a bevy of coaches with more impressive accomplishments?

11. Taps on the Oval every Wednesday at noon.

The Buckeyes are:

- The only school in a BCS Conference to accomplish this feat even once
- The only school outside the state of Utah to do it even once
- The only team to do so 3 times in a 5-year period

Here are the schools that have done the Football-Men's BBall-Women's BBall Conference Triple in the same school year:

1992-93 BYU shared the WAC football crown with Fresno State and Hawai'i, men's basketball tied for the crown with Utah, women won outright

1995-96 Utah shared the WAC football crown with Air Force, BYU, and Colorado State, both bball teams won outright

1999-00 Utah shared the Mountain West football crown with BYU and Colorado State; men's basketball shared the regular season with UNLV, women won outright

2003-04 Utah won Mtn West football and women's hoops outright, didn't win the men's basketball regular season (Air Force), but won the conference tournament

2005-06 tOSU shared the football crown with PSU, won the men's and women's regular season outright, but won neither basketball tournament

2006-07 tOSU won all three regular season titles outright, and the men's basketball tournament, but not the women's

2006-07 BYU won all three Mtn West crowns outright, but won neither basketball tournament

2008-09 Utah won Mtn West football outright, shared men's bball with New Mexico and BYU, shared women's with San Diego St, and won both basketball tournaments

2009-10 tOSU won football and women's basketball outright, shared the men's basketball title with Sparty and Purdue, and both the men's and women's teams won the basketball tournaments
