It has been a rough week...

To say the least...

My mother passed away early Tuesday morning at home. It was very unexpected and she had not been sick or anything. Mom was famously healthy in fact - she might get a cold now and again but she carefully managed her diet and exercise and all of that.

Mom was one who would always be so giving of her time, her knowledge and experience, her advice, everything. She was the one to pick us up if we were down, tell us we can do better if we were struggling and she always always always kept us on the right path.

She touched so many lives through her life - having everyone remember her to us about their interactions with her and seeing how much they are hurting too has been really touching. Last night was our local football league's powderpuff charity football game. They held a moment of silence for her and it really put a light on how much of a hole her passing has left.

If you take anything from this rambling missive take this: If you can, tell your mother and father that you love them. Don't take the ability to do so for granted.

I love you Mom.
Very sorry to see this sad news, Mike. God bless and godspeed.
