Is Marshall Faulk a Top 10 Runningback All-Time?

When we talk about best RB ever I have to narrow it down to a handful of guys:

Brown
Sayers
Sanders
Simpson
Payton

Now I think if Sayers played a full career he could have a very good claim because he was twenty years before his time and was just dominating. The thing is he had injury issues, so he can't make it.

I think OJ is the most "talented" RB ever. The combination of speed, height, size, stength, vision, etc was just crazy. He is up there, but falls slightly because I don't think he was the best "running back" ever.

Payton was a great great player, but guys like Sanders/Brown were on another level.

It comes down to Sanders and Brown. I give the edge to Brown because of his size, strength, and the way he played the game.

I think Adrian Peterson could be up there when it is all said and done. Obviously he isnt anywhere near this list, but he is the best RB since Sanders IMO

I agree that Peterson has something special, but he'll have to continue proving himself. I've got him and DeAngelo Williams 1, and 2 in the NFL right now.

As far as Emmit Smith, I don't think it's fair to even compare him to the other guys. He ran behind what was the greatest offensive line of all time, no questions about it in my mind. Barry Sanders, whoever else you want to put back there, they would've destroyed Smiths numbers.

Williams and Stewart are going to be a killer combo this year. They are going to be the Boldin/Fitzgerald of RB's.
