Former USWNT member and current ESPN analyst Julie Foudy has been working on this story for more than a year. Will debut tonight (11/3/15) on E:60 at 8:00. Is field turf safe? Beyond the questions of ligament/joint damage incidents increasing in all sports, does playing in ground up tires also lead to cancer?

 
I would guess that the ligament/joint damage incidents are probably more tied to pushing human muscular performance to peak levels that exceed the mechanical capabilities of connective tissue, as tendons probably need to be in there too.

I like playing on field turf. It feels a lot better on my legs than an average, non-manicured, grass field.
