I have an iPod/iTunes question. I think I know the answer, but I'll ask anyway. I'm looking for a way to set my playlists to shuffle, but not have shuffle 'on' on the iPod for everything all the time. What I want is to have the shuffle, but to be able to go to a specific album and listen to the tracks in order without having to go through the menu to 'Settings' and toggle the shuffle setting. I know you can make shuffle specific to playlists in iTunes, but the same thing doesn't seem to be available on the iPod itself. This problem is a real pain in the ass while I'm driving, so if anybody knows a way around it, I'd like to know about it. Thanks.

What you're asking for can't be done (yet anyway) I don't think. However, you can sort your playlist in your ipod by album, then right-click on the playlist and click on "Copy to Play Order." Now all the albums are grouped together in your playlist. Does that help?

I am an iPod freak, have been since the original shuffle, and I have gotten pretty familiar with the system. iPod replacement parts are easy to get and pretty easy to install as well, at least as far as screen & battery (both of which I have replaced.)

Another thought is this, I work in the IT industry and Microsoft pays my bills, but being a Microsoft person I will give you the golden rule of microsoft products, wait til the second version of whatever it is. Here we don't install any MS product unless it's had at least one service pack. MS is pretty notorious for having huge bugs in the first versions.

I bought one of these skins and put it on my 30G and love it....

you have to be careful when puting it on because you have to use a little bit of soapy water to get it to apply.

Anybody who's thinking about getting an iPod - order one of these things about a week before you get the iPod. It's the best accessory I've ever bought. My iPod looks great, it didn't add any bulk, and it's well protected. Great find, LoKy!

That's my biggest gripe about the iPod thus far. It's ridiculous that you cannot shuffle a playlist.

I guess it's not really important to you all, but I'm bored, so I guess I'll share.

I've had the skin on my new iPod that LoKy recommended, and it's been great. I finally got my Apple Leather Case as well. Unfortunately, when used in combination, using the leather case has caused discoloration of the skins, which is disappointing. my white iPod now looks like it has (for lack of a better description) brown underwear skidmarks along the side of its face. I'm glad now that I have the skin on it, though I suspect that it's the texture composition of the skin itself that is partly to blame for this. I have ordered a couple replacement skins, and I'm hoping that this problem will go away with wear and still allow me to use both in combination. I don't like the idea of carrying an iPod that looks like used toilet paper.

that sucks... I have a black iPod and use a black silicone case as well as the skin and haven't had a problem with the skin getting stained.
