iPhone, Safari, BP, Porn Popups

couple of recent popups on the iPhone since we migrated.

Browser is chrome.

What I'd really need in those situations is to know what ads are loading in the normal spots. Those nasty interstitials are coming from one of the other ad positions, and it would be useful to start being able to narrow down what ad is the common denominator when those things pop. So let's say you got that Walmart pop on two different pages -- was there one ad of the normal spots that was the same each time? If so, a screen of that ad (that shows its position as well) would go a long way towards helping us narrow it down.

Thanks!

Just got a pop up alert for Candy Crush on my iPhone 4s while I was in the Ghost That We Know thread. There is an Ad for Candy Crush on that page while I was reading it.

Top of the box had ad.yeildmanager.com

Actually, I may have had a real breakthrough here. I hope so -- as much because I want to KNOW who the actual source was so I can send them THE ANGRIEST EMAIL EVAR WRITTEN and also because it (and any other ad these assholes serve) will go away forever.

That specific pop has plagued the entire internet. If you Google "Candy Crush pop up" you get people raging everywhere from 24/7 to major news sites. Unscrupulous slimebags have piggybacked it in over the ad networks, and gone to extraordinary and sophisticated lengths to obfuscate it. Oh, 21st century skullduggery, how I hate you.

If anyone sees a Candy Crush pop tomorrow morning forward, please let me know per the norm.

@Clarity Will do. Next time I get one, I'll scroll up and see what the other ads were.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. It was in the bottom ad position. I am retarded when it comes to the iPhone as I mainly use it as a phone, text machine, and browser (go figure). Have no clue how to screen capture on it.

Sounds like you may have it cornered, though.

I understand completely that advertising is necessary to support the site, but I use a rooted android with an ad blocker and use AdBlock Plus on the browsers on all my home computers and laptop and have never had any issues. The only things that ever seem to get through are some ads on one of the local news stations apps...............bastards!
