The Big Ten

No, It's Iowa
Other get the publicity, but the best group of linebackers in the Big Ten may be from Iowa.

I think when you look at Ohio State's linebackers aren't only the best in the Big Ten but maybe the country.

Fuzzypants - Am trying to draw a bead on your thread here but i seem to be confused. Is ESPN saying Iowa has the best group of Linebackers and that Ohio State has the worst. I just can't beleive that. Straighten me out here if you can. Thanks.

the big difference between the buckeyes and the hawkeyes here is depth.....

hodge and greenway are great....no doubt about it....but after those two they are questionable...they do have kyle williams who was one of the top h.s. lb recruits in the country coming in....

tosu on the other hand has hawk, carpenter, d'andrea, schlegal, kerr and freeman....thats the difference...

not to jinx anything...but the buckeyes could lose a linebacker and not miss a beat....the hawkeyes lose hodge or greenway and they are average.....

that reporter needs to do some more homework....

Yeah I agree here with most of you. I watched the Iowa game from last year and Iowa's linebacker were very impressive and i have to think they could give us a big game in Iowa City. But i also have to agree that Ohio States corp of linebackers are very strong and 3 and 4 deep with any of them could be the starting ones.

Hodge is probably the best LB in the country. That said, Hawk, Carpenter, and probably Schlegel are all as good or better than Greenway. Iowa doesn't have anyone w/ the untapped potential of D'Andrea, and the two two super-frosh are probably a draw.

Everyone (except for osu fans) think iowa has the best lbs in the country, and they might, but its all preseaon bull shit, both teams have lost a lot up front, we will see whose line will step up and give the lbs the ability to play sideline to sideline with out haveing a gaurd or tackle knocking them on there ass everytime.

I don't think that talking up the guy who had the most tackles in the spring game qualifies as homerism. Not counting Hodge, there's nobody at Iowa I'd take over anybody in our two-deep at LB. Those other guys may be equal, but not better.

Iowa and Ferentz are the flavor of the month...tOSU is old news to the country. Everyone expects the Bucks to be loaded every year so the story has zero interest for non-tOSU fans. Now, throw a bone to an upstart middle-tier program with the audacity to challenge the Big 2...now you have a news story.
