The Buckeyes need a sweep and some help. Choking against this 16-32 team will spell the end of the season for the Bucks, save a tournament championship.

I think 2/3 still gets them into the regionals

rivals still predicts them as a 2 seed and as doesnt have them as one of the "last 5 in"

OSU 13 Iowa 4 per Big Ten Network...1 down 2 to go

Hell yes Pur beat Illinois 12-5 so the Buckeyes are in 1st!!!

Afraid not. Still a half game back of Minnesota, who scored an unearned run in the ninth to beat PSU yesterday.

    Buckeyes take Game 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State hitters supported the 12-strikeout of Alex Wimmers with a nine-run second inning and the Buckeyes cruised to a 13-4 win over Iowa in the first game of a three-game, regular season-closing set at Bill Davis Stadium. Game 2 will be Friday at 6:35 p.m.
The win was the 400th Big Ten win for 22nd-year Ohio State coach Bob Todd, and it improved the team?s records to 37-15 overall and to 16-6 in the Big Ten Conference. Iowa is now 16-33 and 4-17. The Buckeyes remain one-half game behind Minnesota in the chase for the Big Ten championship. The Golden Gophers let a 6-0 lead slip away at Penn State, but scored an unearned run in the ninth inning to win, 7-6, and improve its Big Ten mark to 16-5.
The Buckeyes, who have scored 10, 12 and 13 runs in their current three-game Big Ten winning streak, sent 13 batters to the plate in the second and scored its nine runs off six hits and one error. Tyler Engle opened the inning with a triple, Michael Stephens had a three-run home run, his team-high 11th of the season, and Justin Miller continued his tear - he is 12-for-his-last-18 at the plate; .667 - with a two-run single to spark the Buckeyes.

Way to go Bucks! I will be there tonight with my son (who will be on the field for the National Anthem as part of the Buckeye Kids Club) and his buddy. Pumped to see some runs scored and another Buckeye victory!

Given the fact that the top two teams in the conference get a bye in the Big Ten tournament the Illinois loss is still huge for us. Since we have the tiebreaker over the Illini it essentially puts our magic number at one(meaning one more OSU win or Illinois loss) for clinching a bye in the tournament. Hopefully we can take these last two against Iowa and Minnesota can drop one against PSU and we'll be Big Ten regular season champs.

Bucks win Game 2, keep Title Hopes Alive

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Jake Hale tied the school record with his 14th save of the season and Ohio State kept its Big Ten Conference title hopes alive with a 5-4 win over Iowa Friday before 2,500 fans at Bill Davis Stadium.
Hale worked the final 1.1 innings and got out of a jam with runners on the corners and nobody out in the ninth to tie the record set by Matt Davis in 2003 and to move within two of tying the Ohio State career mark of 27 saves.
"Jake competed for us," Ohio State coach Bob Todd, who moved within seven wins of 1,000 for his career, said. "His getting the second out in the ninth by strikeout was really big."
Hale was in a position to close out his Big Ten best 33rd consecutive game because Dean Wolosiansky worked a career-high-tying 7.0 innings and gave the Buckeyes an opportunity to win. He won his 11th game of the season - best in the Big Ten - in 12 decisions by scattering six hits and allowing three runs with one walk and five strikeouts.
