Internet Stalkers, Tom Brady, and the Pittsburgh Pirates

Misanthrope

What the hell...I'll become a Yankees fan!

There's no salary cap, we have the biggest TV contract, by far (simply because we have the biggest market), and we don't have to share it. I know "my" team will always compete and I can thump my chest with pride on internet message boards, year after year after year. :roll2:

The Yankees should win the fucking World Series every year. The fact that they don't speaks volumes...

Misanthrope: "I know "my" team will always compete and I can thump my chest with pride on internet message boards, year after year after year."

Listen up, you bitter a-hole: I was born and raised in the Bronx. I've lived in the tri-state area most of my life except for Columbus and a short stint in Miami. Don't imply that I'm a bandwagon fan.

I'm more of a fan of my team than you'll ever be of yours. Just because your team sucks doesn't mean you have to be jealous of another team. For example, the Cowboys of the 90's had a great team, they weren't likable, but had nothing to with my team, so I didn't care about them. Just because they were good didn't mean I had to be jealous and bitter like you are.

"The Yankees should win the fucking World Series every year. The fact that they don't speaks volumes..."

Hey stupid, unless you have no idea what's going on in sports, highest payroll doesn't entitle a team to a Championship. Do the Knicks win the NBA Title each year with a payroll that DOUBLES the salary cap? Do the New York Rangers win the Stanley Cup each season with a $90 million payroll? No. In fact, both those teams COMBINED have 3 Championships in the last 60 years.

Do the Dodgers make the Playoffs every year? How bout the Mets?? How bout the Cubs?? Even the Red Sox weren't any good before '03 with a $100 mil + payroll. The Yankees did things the right way and won Championships. It helps that they can afford to sign and resign anyone they want, but payroll is not the be-all, end-all.

What's your favorite team, BTW?

Stalk, how many run-ins have the Yankees and your beloved White Sox had in the past 100 years? None.

You have no reason to hate the Yanks, other than being bitter and jealous. Admit it.

You chime in 100x more on the Yankees than any other team. That's called sweat.

I could understand a Mets fan, a Red Sox fan, a Baltimore fan, a Kansas City fan from the 70's, even an Indians or a Mariners fan from the semi-rivalry in the 90's. But anything other than that is pathetic.

The fact is, this is an Ohio State message board. Few, if any, people here give two shits about the Yankees, and wouldn't be discussing them at all if YOU didn't feel compelled to start threads about them. Then, when you get some negative feedback, you rip into us for even responding to the thread.
Hello, dumbass, it's a freakin message board - if you didn't want feedback, why did you start the thread? What did you think, we were all Yanks fans?

I'm more of a fan of my team than you'll ever be of yours.
Blah, blah, blah...:sob:

I'm neither jealous nor bitter. There's a reason why I'm talking about the Yankees - YOU start threads about them. When I start creating threads about the Yankees, you might actually have a point. As it is, you're just a hyper-sensitive "fan" who can't handle criticism - even when it's factually based - of your favorite team. There's an easy way for you to avoid this stress. Find a Yankees fan site to post your threads or stop creating threads on a site that, by definition, isn't likely to have many Yankees fans.

Apples and Oranges, bud. MLB has guaranteed contracts, no salary cap, and most of each team's revenue comes from their local market, creating huge disparities along population lines. The NBA, NHL and NFL are all different in some, or all, respects.

Perhaps you should delve a little deeper before calling someone else "stupid" - you're about two thoughts behind. :roll2:

What's your favorite team, BTW?
I was born and raised a Pirates fan in the Ohio Valley. I rarely start threads about them here because most Buckeyes are Reds/Tribe fans, but I also don't piss my jammies every time someone criticizes them, either.

Bitchandmope: "The fact is, this is an Ohio State message board."

No, this is the Professional Baseball Forum on an Ohio State web site. If you want to talk OSU, go to the Football Buckeyes forum. That's the appropriate place for it.

"Few, if any, people here give two shits about the Yankees, and wouldn't be discussing them at all if YOU didn't feel compelled to start threads about them."

This is the only thread I've started about the Yankees in seven months. Get your facts straight. And this thread was started mostly in response to morons like yourself who're burying my team prematurely.

And btw, there are quite a few Yankee fans in Columbus, considering that the Columbus Clippers have been the Yanks' Triple A team for over twenty years. I think this is as good a place as any to have a Yankees thread.

"Then, when you get some negative feedback, you rip into us for even responding to the thread."

Of course I expect negative feedback. Do you expect me not to reply to your negative feedback?? Post whatever you want, do your worst .. but don't go crying to mommy when I write back.

"There's a reason why I'm talking about the Yankees - YOU start threads about them."

Thanks. I'm glad you're a fan of mine. There are 100 threads out there about the Indians, Reds, Red Sox (mostly from Sears) that I don't feel compelled to read or post on, so I'm glad that you feel my threads are a good read, and a must for you to post-on.

"As it is, you're just a hyper-sensitive "fan" who can't handle criticism - even when it's factually based - of your favorite team."

Every 'fact' you've posted, I've rebuked and gotten no answer from you. How bout you answer the baseball questions instead of getting into a pissing match with me? How are these 'facts' when you can't even back up your own statements??

How bout this for a fact: the Yankees didn't even have the highest payroll in baseball (the Dodgers did) when they won the World Series in '96 & '98. You can chew on that one for awhile ..

I'm not hyper-sensitive, I'm a normal fan. If some outsider who has nothing to do with the Pirates or Buckeyes comes into the (baseball here, football there, got it?) forum & starts pissing on your team for no reason, I'd hope you'd contest that. Otherwise, you wouldn't be a fan.

"The NBA, NHL and NFL are all different in some, or all, respects."

The NBA and NHL are also mostly based on regional revenues. The NFL is the only exception with revenue sharing across the board. So, baseball/hockey/basketball is the apple, and the NFL is the orange. So tell me now why the Knicks and the Rangers haven't won more Championships with their exorbitant payrolls. Still waiting on this one ..

I'd also like an answer as to why the Dodgers, Mets, Red Sox, & Cubs each have had $100 mil plus payrolls every year and have one Championship to show for it COMBINED in the past fifteen seasons.

"I was born and raised a Pirates fan in the Ohio Valley. I rarely starts threads about them here because most Buckeyes are Reds/Tribe fans, but I also don't piss my jammies every time someone criticizes them, either."

Go ahead and start a Pirates thread. Who cares? Another 'neutral' fan who's not 'jealous or bitter.' What's your beef with the Yanks? Bitter over the '27 World Series? A Pirates fan. This is classic. I get more shit from teams with nothing WHATSOEVER to do with the Yankees than I do from Sears, who should be the one writing these anti-Yankee threads ..

Don't have one, don't need one. I just like watching Steinbrenner go nuts.

Bitter over the '27 World Series?
Nah, 1960 took care of that.

No one is writing anti-Yankees threads - that's the whole point, you fucking whiner. The truth is, you can't stand it when anyone criticizes the Yankees, yet you feel compelled to start Yankee threads here. That's your choice, but no one needs to justify to you their motivation for responding - or not responding - to them. Maybe it's just to watch you throw a fit? Did you ever think of that, genius?

Rest assured, the more you piss and moan the more "anti-Yankee shit" you're going to get. Why? Why not? If you can't take it, you might want to stop creating Yankee threads.

Misanthrope: "No one is writing anti-Yankees threads - that's the whole point, you fucking whiner."

There's no posts from you on this or any of the other Yankee threads?? Thought so.

"The truth is, you can't stand it when anyone criticizes the Yankees, yet you feel compelled to start Yankee threads here."

No. I actually like anti-Yankee posts from OilerBuck, sears, tibor, BuckeyeBill, AKAK, and other Yankee-haters who can say something and have a point. It makes for good conversation. You make pointless ones that're nothing more than a pissing match & then can't back them up afterwards.

BuckeyeNation27: "just wondering sloopy, is it ok if i have a reason to hate the yankees despite me being a white sox fan?"

Given our history, you have every reason to hate the Yankees. Go right ahead. I'll focus my attention on the BuckeyeNation-imitators, like Misanthrope.
