Looks like Puregig is having some sort of minor networking/data center issue. I've seen some slow and no-loads today, but they're relatively infrequent at the moment. We've put a few calls into the 24/7 NOC but no one has answered, it could simply be that the problems I'm seeing are also affecting their phones -- or perhaps no one is there today (that would surprise and disappoint me).
Anyway, if you see slow/no-loads, that's probably why. I did some tracerts and was seeing something time out between hwng.net (Highwinds, Puregig's parent) and puregig.net. I think that's one of their core routers, which was causing problems when we had similar (but more severe) problems a few months ago, maybe it's acting up again. Or maybe this is somehow related to the greater DNS-level DDoS attacks that have been floating around the intarwebs over the last week.
Either way, it's not our machine, and there's little we can do but continue to try to reach them (we will) and wait for some sort of fix or for it to go away.
Merry Christmas to all (no sarcasm there, given this follows problem notification).
