Yes you can.

You put too much in, your house will hold too much heat or moisture.

A buddy of mine who works for custom builder said they had a house once that the people wanted as much insulation blown in as would fit and the company guarded against it but the people ended up with their house being too hot year round.

With brick construction your usually limited in what you can do.
My current house is made from adobe (mud) brick.
It was insulated on the outside with sprayed on foam!
To add more insulation I would have to have the exterior plaster(mud coat)
scraped off and maybe more could be added. I've never heard of this actually being done!
But, the good thing about all brick homes is their "mass".
The mass acts as a cooler in the summer and as a heat sink in the winter.
Nice to get solar gain in the winter.
I love my adobe home! :biggrin:
