The new pact restructures his 2005 contract and includes an annual donation from Victor to Cleveland Indians Charities.

5 years, $15.5 million, club option for 2010. Pretty good deal for the Tribe.

I like it. He'll be 30 when the contract comes to an end so the Tribe will have gotten his most productive years at a good price. They also won't have to go through the headaches of arbitration with him.

Good move by Shapiro taking a page out of Harts book. It's not always a wise move as this team can't afford anymore bad signings (not with Dolan as the owner) but I just don't see Vic being a bad sign.

Great move.

Now if we can just get Vic to through the ball to second better.... :(
