OSU is not playing defense well at all. Matta is madder than hell(I would not want to be at practice this week).

    37-35 Buckeyes

    51-48 Indy

The Buckeyes look real sloppy, their lucky to be in this one. Fuss looks horrible, Butler needs more PT. Stockman and Fuss have been an important part of the team this year, and I hate to say it, but I can't wait to see the team without them next year.

*sigh* Buckeyes drop to 12-7. Indiana won 67-60.

    Is it Fall yet?

This was the worst performance by the Buckeyes all season IMO. They need certain people to start playing defense and hustling...They looked like they were a step slow or tired.

I thought the Minnie game was much worse.

In the early games this season they seemed to come out after every stoppage ready to strap it on. Now the intensity waxes and wanes. I sincerely thought this team would just get better as the season wore on. Now my thinking is in terms of 'resurgence' towards the end of the season.

Stockman? Alternating spells of brief defensive intensity and horrid offensive judgement. Fuss is still the best option, but he just isn't enough of an offensive threat.

When your two true guards are both seniors you should be looking for great things. Alas......

I turned it off at half time. I've never seen so many travelling calls in one game, much less 20 minutes.

I know Dials is a team captain, but you probably could credit this to senior leadership. Fuss and Stockman are no where near leaders, both make horrible decisions, especially for seniors. Its hard for a team to make progress throughout a year if there is no senior leadership. Like I said before, I hate talking this way about Buckeyes, but there is nothing else to say. Foster and Dials need to speak up, and take over the leadership role of this team. Every game Foster and Dials come out and play hard, not just when they want to. They both need to speak up, because their actions on the court may not be enough IMO.

I keep telling myself that these guys have done better than I thought they would and to remember that these guys are playing for pride, not the NCAA. Still, it is disappointing to think that they may end up with just 17 wins or so.

They sure don't seem to play well away from home. What disturbs me is that they continue to do so poorly on free throws. This is a basic that high school players get right. If Dials and Stockman had hit 80% of their free throws, they would have taken the lead late in the game. Just look at their performance on free throws all year, Sullinger (58%), Fuss-Cheatam (41%) and Foster (25%) clearly need to think about their contibutions in this regard.

No sense in becoming negative, but I am very sad for them given their start. The opening of the Big Ten was always gonna be tough but the overtime losses seem to have really taken it out of them.

How good is our new coach? We'll see from this point out.

Why don't we play zone defense...ever?! It seems to me thats the best way to save some fouls on Dials. Yes I know man defense sets our offense up better but we aren't making 3's at the moment and the other teams are getting lay up after lay up on our defense. At least I think an occasional switch up might let us get collected more and intensify our D. We don't make the other teams beat us as much as we beat ourselves.

Now that its been 4 days, I can bring myself to comment on another frustrating loss...

I agree, I thought we just didnt come ready to play vs Minny, but against Indiana we played hard at times and then had costly turnovers. We played well in spurts but I don't think they have put together 40 minutes yet this season.

We only shot 27% from behind the arc. We need to attack the basket more to open up the three point shot. Dials was solid, but he needs help down there and while Stockman had his moments, he was non existent on defense and had some costly dumb shots in pivitol moments in the game.

I have never seen a team called for traveling so many times in one game, the kids were trying to force things and we need to let the game come to them. They were pressing at times in my opinion.

In the end, they still had a great chance to steal the game, they had some open looks but they didnt fall.
