An all around great performance today by the Bucks. They beat a very good pitcher in Blake Monar and they made it look easy.

The Bucks executed to perfection on offense and Drew Rucinski turned in his best performance as a Buckeye, imo. The wind was blowing out to right, but Rucinski was still able to silence all those LH Hoosier bats..i figured IU would hit at least 3 HR's today! Drew lowered his ERA to 1.83.

    McKinney vs Martin tomorrow.

    Bucks drop Game 2 5-3

    From the Official Site

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.- Ohio State battled Indiana for a second consecutive day Saturday but the Buckeyes couldn't generate enough offense to offset an early IU charge and as a result dropped Game 2 to the Hoosiers, 5-3, before 958 fans at sun-drenched Sembower Field.
After scoring an unearned run in the first, the Hoosiers matched a three-run Ohio State second inning with three of its own to go up 4-3, and then they added another run in the third to lead 5-3 with the fans settling in for a potentially long afternoon. But from that point on the offense came to a screeching halt and the game was a pitchers' battle. Both teams are now 3-2 in the Big Ten Conference. Ohio State is now 11-13 overall and Indiana improves to 19-11.
"It was a good ball game...a well-played ball game," Ohio State coach Greg Beals said. "We had a couple of situations offensively where we needed to get a hit. If we get two hits in two different spots we win the game. Yesterday we capitalized on our situations offensively and got the big hits. Today we were a couple of hits away."

Bucks played well yesterday despite the loss. McKinney settled down and turned in a pretty good performance. The pen and defense were solid, but we just couldn't get that big hit with RISP...so close.

I don't like todays pitching matchup but anything is possible.

Not much you can say about that one. To give up 4 runs with 2 outs in the ninth just sucks.

5 of the 10 Hoosier runs were unearned..not to mention that 2 runs scored via wild pitches. We gave this one away. :smash:

This is going to be a rough year.

    From the Official Site

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.- Ohio State's 10-9 Game 3 loss to Indiana Sunday was quite simply, terribly unfortunate. The home team scored four two-out, unearned runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to steal a win from the grasps of defeat and give it a series win over the Buckeyes for the first time since 1996.
T.C. Knipp hit a bases-loaded triple to tie the score and Michael Basil followed with the game winning single to give Indiana its series victory, but more importantly improve its record to 4-2 in the Big Ten and 20-11 overall. Ohio State falls to 3-3 in the Big Ten and 11-14 overall.
On a scary-windy day at Sembower Field, the Buckeyes did everything right to stay in front of the dangerous hitting Hoosiers...except get the final out. The team jumped on IU starter Matt Dearden for a couple of runs in the first inning and added another in the third to give OSU freshman starter Greg Greve somewhat of a comfort zone in just his second Big Ten start, but clearly his biggest Big Ten start.
