A world where a team can get lucky with the transfer portal and get some difference maker. Most of their playmakers are transfer guys.

Starting this offseason, every team out there will be paying attention to who Cignetti offers (if he is still at IU) and throw cash at those kids. Apparently, he has his people review the stats on kids and picks diamonds in the rough.

Also, the portal isn't fool proof.

If he can capitalize on this season with recruiting stronger, it will be super successful. I don't think IU ponies up money for recruits.

My only apprehension is that Cig won't be able to bring a pile of JMU guys who know his system and are vets. He has 13 guys doing what Tanner McAllister did for Knowles. Sure, they can be convinced to come to Bloomington, but will high 3 and 4 stars from HS? I kinda doubt it.
They had players from all over. The QB is from OU. There was a guy from Clemson that I saw. All over. I think he is a good coach, but to keep up with the big boys he will need a constant flow of hitters. That's super difficult.

I get that, I just think that bringing 13 guys is importing your (winning) culture, whereas 13 random players may give you Texas A&M from two years ago.
