You guys left out the Alabama glory days. From the revolutionary war to the middle of the civil war Alabama was unchallenged in college football. They won the national championship nearly every year, sometimes 3 or 4 times, and one remarkable year when they won the national championship a record 9 times*. The actual number of national championships won by Alabama is actually unknown, but estimates range from 341 to upwards of 1700.
