We then move to the 2022 class, where Dasan McCullough was named the Kansas High School Football Player of the Year. Listed as an athlete, McCullough plays both sides of the ball, but really excels on defense as a linebacker/DB. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound stud helped lead Blue Valley North to the Class 6A championship game, finishing the season with 75 tackles, six tackles for loss, four picks and four forced fumbles. He is the son of Kansas City Chiefs RB coach Deland McCullough.

  • Excited to return to Bloomington South HS; he grew up there from age 10-15
  • He understands that Al Washington’s decision is between him and his family and that he, CJ, and Gabe will be told when a decision is made (indicating that as of 9pm last night a decision has not been made)
  • Having a coach as a father impacts his view of coaching changes; he understands the business behind decisions
  • Coach Day and the entire university were big parts of his decision to commit, which is why he reaffirmed he is still with Ohio State 100% regardless of Washington’s decision
  • He and his family are on board for whatever is best for their dad, ie moving wherever they need to for his career
  • Excited to be closer to Columbus to visit for games and to host recruits on visits
  • Says CJ used to be the better recruiter, but says he is better now
  • References his role in recruiting Quinn Ewers, and that CJ gave him credit for it (indicating he watches other lettermen row material)
  • Referencing RB prospects specifically, he talks to Demari Alston the most; he has also been talking a lot to Dallan Hayden about Ohio State; he’s close with both outside of recruiting
  • Confirms that he has not been told yet what Al Washington is doing as of 9pm last night
  • Expects to move to Bloomington in early March

-Dasan made the move to Indiana last week due to his father taking a job with the Hoosiers. He talks with fellow Hoosier state prospects Goodwin and Curry, and feels the Buckeyes lead for both ($).

Anyone else thinking Dasan really just moved to Indiana to recruit? Goodwin and Curry would be so huge.

And now that he's closer to Columbus, it'll be a bit easier for McCullough to recruit for the Buckeyes. McCullough and C.J. Hicks are their two best recruiters in the 2022 class, establishing a great reputation for themselves as such.

McCullough will certainly be active in recruiting the other top two players in Indiana, offensive tackle Kiyaunta Goodwin and defensive tackle Caden Curry, to join him at Ohio State. Offensive guard Demon Moore is also a target from Indiana that McCullough and Hicks can perhaps recruit together a bit easier now.
