Looks like every Sunday is gonna be an early one for me...or maybe a few late Saturdays. +13 hours from the Eastern Time Zone. But I assure you, I'll be up for every one of them. Not sure yet how many I'm gonna be able to watch on TV, but if need be I'll be parked in front of my computer with a cold beer following along the game thread on BP. Nothing gets my juices flowing like the last week or two leading up to kickoff!!!

It's getting close.....

The echos from the ancient colliseum dropped down upon my ears like angel wings upon the clouds of heaven. The autumn air smelled of crisp leaves and grilled bratwurst. The ice cold beer in my hand never tasted better in my life. My necklace of Buckeyes made from the ones gathered by my daughter in her schoolyard at recess, rattled in anticipation. The roar of the crowd and the timeless notes from the Best Damn band In The Land made me feel warm but not enough to erase the goosebumps on my arm. A tear began to form in my eye as I realized that this was what life was all about. The warriors bolted from their den in the southeast corner of the battlefield to the loudest cheers I have ever heard in my life. Bring on another National Championship for THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES!!!!!

NF, you made enough posts in the wee hours of the morning while you were in this hemisphere, so I have no doubt you'll be able to catch every game live!

My story

:osu2: :osu2:
My first memory was of a guy named Hopalong who played running back for a team called ?the Buckeyes?. By the end of the season I was hooked. I was determined to play football for Mr. Hayes and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Even though that never happened I am today a Buckeye through and through. The radio and Sunday newspapers were all I had and needed back then. Now I am lost without my tapes, CD?s, and dvd?s.
:osu4:
I remember them all. The all Americans, the walk ons, the scout teams, These were the players who actually got to play on the Sacred ground we all wished we could have played on, and whom we all wish could be , or could have been. I remember the coaches, the cheerleaders, and Brutus. Is there any better ?rush? created in the world than by this excitment?
:osu4:
Woody Hayes , a greater man never lived. He was/is the hero of my childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. I have heard him speak, and he was mesmerizing no matter what the subject. I lived thru his good times and the not so good times. I could always depend on him being ?Woody?.
:osu4:
I remember the music. Script Ohio, Oh to be able to ?dot the I?. All the songs and music that bring instant elation to my heart and a bounce in my step. I remember the ?buckeye grove?, being in St. Johns to watch the band, the band coming to the rotunda. ?Across the field? with it?s instant jump start. Arriving 1 ½ to 2 hours early and sitting just watching the preliminaries and warm ups, and sitting on the edge of my seat all the while.
:osu4:
I remember the way the ?Shoe? slowly comes into view while heading south, just the sight always got me primed. The crowds of fans in their scarlet and grey and black and white. The anticipation on their faces as the hurry and scurry along. The tailgate parties and good fellowship which abounded. And the cheers of the crowds.
<:osu4:
All this before the first snap of the first game each year.
:osu4:
There is a lot to remember in 50 years of being a Buckeye fan.

If we're gonna share Buckeye stories than here goes mine.

It was an unseasonably warm day on October 12th 2002. Having never been able to afford a Buckeye game before, I scraped together about 60 bucks and came down to Columbus to experience a gameday weekend. After spending 20 of my dollards the night before on food and beer, my friends and I (they already had tickets) walked around the tailgate area. A sea of red shirts and friends who have never met each other abounded. One of my friends knew someone who had a rather nice tailgate spot set up right next to the Shoe. We joined up, had some dogs and some brews, and proceeded to tailgate with the Schottenstein family...kind of a weird experience too. Well I needed a ticket and I found a scalper who dropped the price to face value at the time (36 bucks) and got my ticket. To enter the stadium (and sneak behind an usher into Block O) and see that mass of humanity was amazing. The ramp entrance began and I jumped out of my shoes. It may be cliche but you can honestly FEEL the electricity in the place. You can feel the energy from 100,000 other diehards like yourself frothing at the mouth for some hardcore Buckeye football. I proceeded to watch the Bucks peckerslap SJSU en route to a national championship. The feeling of being there has never left me, and I am more than willing to shell out 230+ for two tickets so I can take my best friend to experience his first Shoe moment against NIU.
