Illinois Fighting Illini (you'll see)

ZOOKER IS GIVING tRESSEL HIS MONIES WORTH IN ohio(scott is next) Illinois already has an 09 commit from Ohio with an OSU offer....

LOL this is from an Illinois fan on another forum. He also titled his post with OSU is starting to panic. I honestly laughed out loud..

Here is my response to this little fanboy..

Okay, well considering a source on Buckeyeplanet.com is reporting Scott to tOSU, but it doesn't really matter anyway. You guys are getting the players that we don't necessarily need. We have no available scholarships right now and are expecting at least 2 guys to go pro to open up room for Terrelle Pryor and Josh Jenkins. I'll take our receiving trio committs of DeVier Posey, Jake Stoneburner, and Lamaar Thomas (Listed as a RB but will be a WR at tOSU, and Ohio State beat our your Illini for him even after inside sources thought he was an Illini lock) over anybody Illinois puts out there.

And the 09 guy you are talking about is far from firm on his Illinois committment. Most Illinois insiders don't feel confident at all about him staying in orange and blue and feel he'll end up as a Buckeye when it's all said and done, and most Buckeyes believe that as well.

And saying Zook is giving Tressel his money's worth in Ohio is truly laughable. Heck, Michigan takes away a recruit or two from us, and it's usually guys that we aren't very high on, and you guys can't even claim that. We have the top players in the state on lockdown and are committed to tOSU right now (Aside from that TE from Cincinnati Elder, Notre Dame lock all the way). You can take a guy like Cordale Scott if you want him. Like I said before, I'll see your Scott, and raise you Devier Posey and Jake Stoneburner (And those are the 2 Ohio WR commits, and Stoneburner at 225 lbs is faster than Scott at 185).

What's even more funny is saying that we are panicking. We have one of the top recruiting classes in the country w/ or w/o Pryor, and we have a lot of top 09 QB's on our list.

No offense, but I've never understood going on another team's board to argue with them...

We ban folks for that around here.
Wasn't on an Illini board, or an Ohio State board either.. It was on a site called DigitalSportsMania, which really has no affiliation to anything other than video games, but we discuss sports there a lot.

Zook is Illinois' irresistible force
Head coach has turned around the football program in Champaign by selling top recruits his vision of success. The Rose Bowl rewards his determination and their faith.

CHAMPAIGN -- They haven't quite got around to erecting a statue, renaming the stadium or even making up T-shirts with catchy slogans bearing his name, though that's surely coming. What the University of Illinois football faithful are doing, however, is as telling as it is intangible.

They are buying what Ron Zook has been selling.

Looks as if Rashard Mendenhall is declaring for the NFL draft.
Other than conference depth/pride, I'm glad to not face him again. Gamble/Dufrene are a bit easier to stop, when tackles are not whiffed.

I think he's got some serious NFL potential. Would not surprise me to see him shoot up the draft boards. Who is there after McFadden?

Depends on who declares since there is a weak senior class at RB. Other potential early departures include:

Jonathan Stewart
Felix Jones
Ray Rice
Steve Slaton
James Davis
etc.

I'd take Mendenhall before Slaton, Rice, Hart, Jamal Charles(just declared as well), PJ Hill

Basically, I think he's most likely the second back taken, maybe third

Good decision for Mendenhall to go. I'll be happy to not see him anymore. He made himself a lot of money with his play in the Rose Bowl, and he's smart to go collect it now while he's still got two good knees.

Wasn't directed at you illindarin...I just figured since we have several Illini guests here some of the OSU fans might want to see some of the discussion going on about Marvin on the other side of the fence.
