You mean the reality where Arizona is a very good football team that probably has an outside chance of winning the PAC this year..and will win it next year because dick rod is such a great coach?

It was ASU that just did that to Illinois, but ThaKid very well may find a way to blame this on DickRod and Arizona rather than the Illini being horrible.

Based on the other responses in that thread, it sounds like he's made that bet before and didn't honor it.

We obviously see how much Scheelhaase can affect the offense. You combine that with the fact that Beckman wants to develop depth/keep guys fresh for the B10 and suddenly I'm not so hot on the darkhorse NC prediction. Not saying I don't think it can happen, but right now everything considered I could see at least 8 regular season wins, and that will still be a nice year. It's disappointing no doubt because I think this could be an NC contender, but it is what it is. He's a big picture type of guy so I can understand this logic. If his philosophy does succeed and they still win the B10 then he will look like a genius. I can totally see that playing out because these guys will be ready (And more importantly, be ready next year when most of the starters are gone), but again 8 wins is my baseline. In any event I just want to see another bowl win which I think is a strong possibility.

If you are constantly taking out your best players for 2nd and 3rd stringers, it will look like that. The only time WMU moved the ball was when there were mass subs. That's not a coincidence. ASU has more all around talent than WMU on offense, so they are going to definitely move the ball if you consistently have Howe or Teistma in for Foster/Spence, Monheim in for Brown, etc. etc. etc. Love the overreaction though. That's not uncommon for Illini fans.

No they didn't. This is how I know I am talking to a lot of people who simply don't know football. They are moving the ball on a few starters mixed in with 2nd, 3rd, even 4th string players. They are running the ball against subs. That is not the complete starting Illini defense, which IMO is the best in the nation. I am going to be very irritated if they lose this game, because this will be the reason.
