If we don't get to the NC...

I would like to see us play a team percieved as a power and have us gaining momentum leading into next year... a game similar to the Fiesta bowl vs. ND. That game signified the end of the Krenzel / the start of the Troy Smith to me and that the new era had really arrived - built momentum going into the '05 and '06 season IMO. I feel like we need a big stage signature win to push TP to the front. Also simlar to the Texas victory over TSUN that same year - built momentum for VY to win the NC in 05.

Troy Smith era began in 2004, Fiesta Bowl win over ND was at the end of the 2005 season, and the Texas win over scUM was in 2004.

Agreed, that's kind of why I mentioned Missouri earlier. I'd like to play a team that I think would be a great game to watch (as long as we get our offense going) and would give us confidence for next year. Missouri fits.

Outback Bowl baby. I want to go to mons and space odysse 2001 again. I was there in the spring and thought it would be a great place to see a bowl game. We have to break the SEC streak sometime.

Unfortunately Mons was always 300 guys and 10 girls.

Odyssey was just as good IMO.

We could win our remaining games all by 20 points and we're not getting a third straight NC bid from the voters. That said, playing USC in the Rose doesn't excite me much because they're already coming to C-bus next September.

I want to earn the Big Ten's BCS bid, but I'm hoping someone else ends up in the Rose. Not out of fear, but out of not wanting to play USC 3 times in 12 months. Let's see someone else.

Please, no NC game this year.
Why would you say that if there's still the chance you could go? And believe me there's still the chance - the way the rankings in front of you shake out, there's really only three teams in front of you if you win out: USC and one each from the Big 12 and SEC.

I don't actually think you'll win out, but if you do why would you prefer not to have the shot at the title? I do think that winning the Rose Bowl would be better than losing the NCG but wishing not to go to the NCG is pretty defeatist.

I for one would not like us to reach the NG game again. There's not even a chance we could get in, it would take a miracle beyond last year's shake up to reach it. Even if we did reach it, I'm almost certain we'd lose by a huge margin again. What proof do we have that it would be any different? We look even worse than we did the past few years.

I would be much happier if we were to reach a bowl game and actually win. Reaching NCG and losing kills the entire season IMO.

I want to go to a bowl that we deserve to be in. If we look like we deserve to play for the title, I'd love to see us get there (I don't think we have a chance of this even if we look better).

As of now, we don't deserve to be in the title game. I'm not sure what we deserve to be in.

I don't want to be in the NC game because of how popular we are or how our fans travel.

I want us to be such an obvious choice that we gotta be there ---- like, undefeated.

In 2002, even though we won several games 3 to 0, 3-2, etc., (JK) they HAD to put us in there because we were undefeated.

At this point, having lost our last two times, I feel like we shouldn't get another chance unless it's very very clear. And anyone who has watched this team this year would NOT say it's very clear.

Last year, after Juice Williams had his way with us, none of us were thinking the next day, "well certainly we can still be national champs". I know things shook out that way and maybe nobody was a clear, undefeated major program...

But the next time we get in I want it to be unquestionable. Even then, Herbie the Love Buck will still pick us to lose!

Yes, if we win the REST OF OUR GAMES BY 28 POINTS and our offense goes nuts, there is a slight chance we would deserve to be there, but I don't see that happening.

I would be happy if we won all our games from here on out and ended up in the top 5 again, with TP coming back next year. Spend all of the winter and spring hearing about how good we are instead of how we stunk up the NC game....
