some of a data entry people! they enter data into a large database with many different tables (to them its simply a pretty gui app), but each night we compress this data to run reports, and when they enter an invalid character or mistype a date i causes my life to suck when i come into work. i spent the better part of my morning so far wading through a file with over 450,000 rows to find where someone mistyped a date! then when i got it fixed and re ran the reports, it broke again because of another mistyped date. i was so pissed i thought i was going to scream. the good thing is that i can see from the records who typed it, and i just sent her a nice email reminding her of the importance of accuracy not speed!

Can you not idiot proof the data entry screens? That's what I have to do with my moron clients. I love ID 10 T errors.

I didn't realize that data had to be compressed in order to complete those TPS reports.

But improved data entry edits...that would be great.

wait till they tell you the f5 and f6 keys are too close together and need to be moved. yep... got that request.. most of the companies i have worked for have only 1 requirement for their data entry people. a pulse. so with that in mind id recommend what everyone else has, idiot proofing the app.
